What engine does Chesso use?
We use the BBPairings, which is a pretty common battle-tested engine.
Does Chesso support Swiss System and Round Robin?
Absolutely, the Dutch version of the Swiss System is supported, as well as the Round Robin.
Do I have to create an account to apply for a tournament?
Yes, you need to create an account to apply for a tournament. You will be able to manage your tournaments schedule as a player, which has never been seen before.
Is Chesso free?
Yes, Chesso is free. We are not charging anything for the software, but we might add some paid features for the players in the future.
Can I download FIDE-ready PDFs from Chesso?
Yes, you can download FIDE-ready PDFs from Chesso. You can also download the pairings in a TRF format, which you can use in your own software.
Can I make requests for new features?
Yes, you can make requests for new features. We will try to implement them if many organizers request it.
Is it possible to have multiple admins for one tournament?
Not yet, but the feature has been requested by many organizers. We will add it in the future.
Can I add players manually?
Yes, you can add players manually. You can also import players from a TRF file.
Do you support Team Events?
For now, no. But we are working on it.
